“”They should not he like those who were given the Book before them, but long ages passed over them and their hearts were hardened, and many of them turned transgressors”
Imam Sadiq (as) said, This verse was revealed about the (occultation of the) Qaem (as). (Kamaluddin volume 2 page 668)
Imam Sadiq (as) said, This verse in the Chapter of Hadid was revealed about the people (who will live) during the time of occultation, “They should not be like those who were given the Book before them, but long ages passed over them and their hearts were hardened and many of them turned transgressors.” “Long ages” refers to the long occultation.
Imam (as) continued, Allah addresses them by saying, “Know that Allah revives the earth (even) after it has died. We have explained to you clearly (Our) signs that you may understand” (Chapter 57 verse 17) (Al Ghaybah by Nomani page 6)
