Verses 1-3

“Alif Lam Mim. This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who are pious. Those who believe in the unseen and establish prayer and spend in the way of their Lord out of what We have given them.”

Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) narrates regarding this verses, “Those who are pious” are the Shiah of Ali (as). The unseen is the Decisive Hujjah who will be in occultation (ghaybat). Proof of this is in the saying of Allah, “And they say, “Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord? Say: “Verily, the unseen is only for Allah, therefore wait; verily, I am with you, among those who wait” (Chapter 10, verse 20) (Kamaluddin, volume 2 page 340)

Dawud bin Katheer al Reqqi narrates that Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) said regarding these verses, “Those who believe in the unseen” are those who believe and testify that the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (as) is haq (truth).” (Kamaluddin volume 2 page 340)

Holy Prophet (sawa) said, “Blessed are those who are patient during the time of the Twelfth Imam (as)’s Ghaybah (occultation). Blessed are those who stay steady in their love for the Imam (as). They are those whom Allah describes in His Book as “Those who believe in the unseen”. (Kifayat al Athar page 60)
